What to expect on the Last Line Senior Summer Camp?
- Train and improve on the building blocks of any pro goalkeeper’s skillset
- Goalkeeper specific conditioning. Forget shuttle runs or bleep tests. Real keeper training methods designed to build your fitness for the beginning of the season
- Small sided games designed for goalkeepers to transfer your training drill skills into real-world match scenarios
Kicking for distance & accuracy – An area often overlooked by goalkeepers young & old. Failing to master ball striking will be a major roadblock in you reaching top flight football. Learn ways of increasing distance and accuracy from the ground.
Plyometrics – A long term valuable training methodology that directly impacts on your ability to make top corner saves. If you haven’t started working on plyometrics yet, your goalkeeping is missing out! Learn the proper and safe way of using this powerful explosive strength building method.
Goalkeeper positioning – Great goalkeepers make difficult saves look easy. This is because they have a deep understanding of positioning around the goalmouth. Last Line coaches will teach you the correct methods of finding yourself in the right position (and how to react quickly when you find yourself out of position!).
Reactions – Some of the most memorable saves throughout footballing history are often known as “reflex saves”. Whilst partly coming from instinct, learn ways of giving yourself the best opportunity to make the “impossible” saves possible
Crossed balls – One of the most techincally demanding and important skills in a goalkeeper’s arsenal, dealing with set pieces will be covered, giving you the confidence to take what you learn on the training field into your games
Agility & diving – Agile goalkeepers are able to extend themselves to make difficult saves. It requires strength and flexability as well as constant drive to push oneself to improve. Last Line coaches will ensure you are using proper technique and are working at a level that challenges you to increase your ability.
